Kitecamp Beauduc 2003 in retrospect
Right away: for all who haven't been with us those two weeks, you really were missing out on
something! Who ever wont be able to join for the next time it's better not to read any further because the more you see
the more you yearn (back) for Beauduc, campfire and kite.
We know, such advise is for nothing. Ok, this extremly hot summer two kite-camps on the beach
of Beauduc took place. Eight young guys and girls were joining us per week to get into all forms of kiting, starting with
flying on land, doing some buggy riding and finally the most beautiful version: Kitesurfing.
It has to be mentioned that we were very proud on our female participants who made characteristics visible in their male
companions previously unthought of. It was great companionship that enriched this week!
The male part of the course definitely wasn't left untouched of the female counterpart and
they really presented themselves of their gentlemen side. So it really was a great camaraderie which especially proved
when a great storm hit our camp and left several tents destroyed. For removal of spoiled food and support an animal
cleaning squad arrived in the morning hours to help us out.
A further highlight was the awarding of the unique Mc Gyver pin. The lucky and overly
deserved winner was our beloved Harry. He really made everything out of nothing like a comfortable chair out of
wood, waterski, bricks and straps. A sun blind out of the pin board and paper, as well as a solar clock etc...
In Camp II we escaped storms and horses and catering-wise we were in heaven. The boys from the
Mühlviertel were thinking of everything and built an ingenious fridge, so that the milk, butter and jam was
kept cool...of course, the jam!
At this point it has to be mentioned that the formerly best tuna was prepared over the self built
stove.
To the joy of all we got ahold of some wood and when sitting around the bonfires we got to listen
to really horrifying stories, we were dying because laughing so hard.
Oh well, it could go on further and further with stories and anecdotes but we don't wont to tell
every secret. Still, you can check out the two galleries at the end.
See you, and thanks for coming with us, the kitebrothers Dominik und Anton
Ps: Thanks a lot to the participants for offering their pics for publishing them here.
